Create Translation Package Wizard - Select |
Use this sheet to select the exchange package format and the languages and sources it contains.
Select the exchange package format. This must be compatible with the editing tool of the translator. Following formats are supported:
Format | Description |
---|---|
Soluling project | The exchange package is a Soluling project file (.ntp). If your translator does not have a Soluling license, she can download a free translator's edition from our home pages. This is the recommended format when sending data to a translator. |
Soluling package | The exchange package is a Soluling exchange file (.ntpx) that contains the project file and optionally source files and the files needed to handle them. If your translator does not have a Soluling license, she can download a free translator's edition from our home pages. Use this instead of a Soluling project if you want to include the source and library file into the exchange package. Include them allows the translator to build localized files and test them. |
XLIFF | The exchange package is an XLIFF file (.xlf). Use this if your translator uses an XLIFF compatible editing tool such as Trados. |
TMX | The exchange package is a TMX file (.tmx). Use this if your translator uses a TMX compatible editing tool such as Trados. |
Text | The exchange package is a text file (.txt). Use this if your translator uses a text editor such as Notepad. |
Excel 2007 or later | The exchange package is an Excel 2007 file (.xlsx). Use this if your translator uses an Excel 2007 or later. |
Excel 97-2003 | The exchange package is an Excel 97-2003 file (.xls). Use this if your translator uses old Excel. |
OpenDocument Spreadsheet | The exchange package is an OpenDocument Spreadsheet file (.ods). Use this if your translator uses Open Office. |
Note! It is strongly recommended that your translators use Soluling to translate your projects. This is because if the project is converted to other formats such as XLIFF, it will lose some information such as UI, image, and other none-string data that might be useful when translating the project. In addition, alternative tools such as Trados and Excel are not as easy to use and powerful as Soluling. Use alternative format only if your translator insists on using it, and you can not convince her using Soluling.
Select the file creation mode. Possible values are:
Format | Description |
---|---|
Create one file that contains all selected languages |
Wizard creates only one file that contains all the selected languages. |
Create several files, one for each selected language | Default. Wizard creates several files, one for each selected language. Each file contains only one language. |
Specifies the exchange data options. Possible values are:
Value | Description |
---|---|
Encode special characters | If checked, the special characters (e.g., line feed, carriage return) will be escaped using C/C++ strings escapes. |
Sorting |
Select if and how the values in the exchange file are sorted. |
The above options are visible only if the format you selected supports them.
Type the name of the exchange package. If you have selected several packages to be created, this file specifies the base name. A language part will be added. For example, if you have German and French languages in your project and you enter C:\MyFiles\Sample.ntpx, Wizard will create two files: C:\MyFiles\SampleDe.ntpx (German) and C:\MyFiles\SampleFR.ntpx (French).
These are visible only if you have selected Send files manually as a file as the delivery method.
Check the languages you want to include in the exchange package(s).
Alternative original combo box lets you choose if an alternative original is used. Alternative original cannot be used if you have selected file create mode Create several files, and either Soluling project or Soluling package format.
Check the sources you want to include into the exchange package.
