Database Translation Memory |
Database translation memory is a translation memory where data is stored into a local or server database. This is the default translation memory database. It does not require any database server, but the database is a single SQLite database file. When you install Soluling, the setup will create an empty translation memory into <data-dir>\TranslationMemory.db
Database | Description |
---|---|
SQLite | This is the default translation memory database. It does not require any database server, but the database is a single SQLite database file. |
MySQL * | If you have MySQL server installed, you can create your translation memory into your MySQL. |
SQL Server * | If you have SQL Server installed, you can create your translation memory into your SQL Server. |
*) MySQL and SQL Server translation memories are not available on every Soluling edition.
If you don't have to share the translation memory with other users, it is recommended to use a local SQLite database. If you decide to use MySQL or SQL Server, create first an empty database using the database's admin tools. Then add that database into Soluling's translation memory list. Soluling will create translation memory tables into the database. Using a server translation memory works when all the translators have access to the database. If your translators want to use the translation memory easily from everywhere, use Cloud Translation Memory. It gives all your translators instant access to your translation memory without any need to maintain the database, configure the firewall, or use a VPN.
