Reduced Matching

The reduced match is very close to a perfect match. Although the match is not 100%, the match of the reduced value is 100%. Reduced value is a string where all the special characters such as hotkey characters (& or _), last punctuation marks (. ! or :) and trailing and leading white spaces are removed and case ignored. When applying, Soluling automatically adds those characters that were reduced.

Let have an example. You have "This is a car" in the translation memory, and you are translating " this is a car:". There is no 100% match, but the reduced value of the search string is "this is a car" and the reduced value of the translation memory string is also "this is a car". Now we have a 100% match of reduced values. The German translation is "Das is ein Auto". Before passing this as a translation, the translation memory adds the reduced characters into it. So the final translation will be " Das is ein Auto:".

A reduced match has 99% as the match percent value.
