Extract, exclude, and locking |
Soluling extracts items from the original files and databases to the Soluling project. You can control what to localize by using the following features.
When Soluling performs the scan operation, Soluling extracts items from the original files and databases to the Soluling project. You can control what to extract by configuring the project and sources. For example, you can select or unselect resource types and change the scan rules. If you don't want to localize an item, the best way is to set the project configuration in such a way that Soluling never extracts the item. However, if you cannot configure the project or if you don't want to configure it, the item will apper to the project. In tht case, you still have two ways to control if the item is localized or not. You can either exclude or lock items.
You can exclude a specific item (row or node), exclude a row or node by an id, or exclude a row by the original value.
Method | Description |
---|---|
Exclude an item | Excludes a specific row or node. |
Exclude by id | Excludes all rows and node having a specific id. |
Exclude by original value | Excludes all rows having a specific string value. |
The last option is to leave the item visible in the project but lock it. That way the translator can see the element but cannot enter any translations. You can also lock a row after you have entered a translation or translations. The translation remains intact but you cannot change them unless you remove the lock from the row.
To lock a row, right mouse click on the left side of the row and check Locked.
